Health Bridge Clinic
Full-stack healthcare platform with role-based access control, DTOs and a layered architecture, documented with UML diagrams. University project, 2026.

Full-stack developer · Bern
I’m Roberta, a full-stack developer with 4.5 years of experience in banking, insurance, retail and healthcare. I specialise in frontend and UX/UI design, and I bring an architect’s way of thinking to every interface: structure first, details always, people at the centre.

About me
I trained as an architect, with a master’s degree from the Polytechnic of Bari (opens in a new tab), and I learned to turn a brief, a site and a long list of constraints into spaces people enjoy using. Between 2020 and 2022 I moved into web development through two bootcamps, because I realised that screens are the new spaces: people move through them, get lost in them, or feel at home.
Since then I have worked on banking, insurance, retail and healthcare products as a frontend engineer who owns the UX/UI, and I added Java and Spring Boot to deliver full-stack products end to end. Today I work between designers, developers and business teams, and I’m growing towards product design. I also earned a bachelor’s degree in IT for Digital Enterprises (opens in a new tab) at Pegaso Digital University.
A building is a system of structure, flows and use. I apply the same logic to design systems and component libraries, like ARTEA: 27 components reused in three applications.
Architects design how people move through a space. I design how users move through a product: clear navigation, sensible flows and fewer errors (−40% errors on an insurance platform).
Every project has budgets, regulations and physics. I’m used to finding elegant solutions inside technical, legal and business limits, and to documenting them (UML, specifications).
Architects coordinate engineers, clients and builders. I bring the same habit to stakeholders, designers and developers: gather requirements, prototype in Figma, validate early.
What I do
Research, wireframes, prototypes and design systems in Figma.
React, Next.js, TypeScript, accessible and responsive by default.
APIs, databases and integrations to deliver features end to end.
Turning requirements into clear user stories and measurable goals.

Selected work
Documentation on the castle was scarce, so I carried out extensive archival research to recover historical photographs. The whole team shared the survey and the bibliographic research.
I then took charge of the masonry study for both the castle and Masseria Lisanti: sampling, descriptive record sheets, mapping and stratigraphic analysis. Combined with the historical sources, it supported a hypothesis on the castle’s building phases and the surface conservation works I proposed.
In the design phase I worked on the recovery and public use of Masseria Lisanti, at the foot of the castle. The project builds on its architectural merit as cultural heritage and on its socio-economic context, as both its name and its fabric are tied to farming and dairy production. The conservative scheme removes incongruous and unsafe elements, integrates or replaces them with materials matching the originals, and introduces features that make the visit accessible to people with disabilities.

The City of Genoa, with the Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, launched a public call for a logo identifying its “Botteghe storiche”, traditional venues and places of cultural interest: businesses trading for at least 70 years that keep their original architecture, furnishings and equipment. The call received 307 entries from Italy and abroad.
My proposal recognises a historic shop by its threshold. The mark is the arched doorway of the carruggi, the entrance into the city’s history. Alternating bands of slate and marble echo the two-tone stonework of Genoese architecture, from the façade of San Lorenzo to the palaces of the old town. The fanlight above the door recalls the iron fanlights of old shop windows, a craft detail that stays legible even at small sizes.
One mark serves three categories, Bottega storica, Locale di tradizione and Locale di interesse culturale, in a clear, repeatable system with positive and reversed versions. The palette is slate, marble and brass (plaque only); Cormorant Garamond sets the name, like inscriptions on old portals, and Manrope sets the city and the text. Below 15 mm in height the bands and fanlight simplify to the solid silhouette of the doorway.
The plaque is engraved in Ligurian slate from the Val Fontanabuona, 20 mm thick, 200 × 280 mm. Mark and text are V-engraved 1.5 mm deep and filled with white pigment; four Ø 8 mm brass screws fix it beside the entrance, with the lower edge 140 cm above the ground. Slate is the stone of Genoa’s portals, thresholds and roofs, so the plaque does not sit on the façade: it becomes part of it.

For Samsung’s BESPOKE BeCreative contest I proposed “Copper Skyline”: five icons cut from a single copper blade. The upper door of the BESPOKE RB38A becomes a horizon, with the Sydney Opera House, the Colosseum, the Eiffel Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Statue of Liberty in one continuous profile.
The blade is a 1.5 mm copper sheet, 520 × 208 mm, laser cut and hand finished. It is fixed to the glass with spacers 4 mm off the surface, so it casts a shadow that moves with the daylight. On the lower door the skyline returns as a faint reflection, like water in a harbour.
The idea has an Italian signature: the Colosseum and Pisa bring Italy into the skyline, and copper links hand-made tradition, from kitchen copper pots to the coppersmiths’ workshops, with precision cutting. Copper also ages, so the refrigerator matures with the people who live with it: polished, burnished and, over time, a hint of verdigris.
The concept is designed around the BESPOKE RB38A (390 L, bottom-mount, flat doors with recessed handles, 595 × 2030 × 658 mm), whose interchangeable door panels leave a clean, flat surface for the blade.

“The research thesis Ms Matera carried out, entitled ‘Survey, Structural Analysis, Recovery and Visitor Access Design for the Remains of the Medieval Settlement of Uggiano in Ferrandina (MT)’, achieved an excellent final result in both its historical analysis and its design, and stood out in particular for an accurate critical survey applying direct, indirect and photogrammetric methods. In addition, in the final synthesis studio, Ms Matera handled the bibliographic and archival research, recovering historical photographs that proved fundamental to the development of the research. […] Beyond the scientific result achieved, the thesis saw Ms Matera always fully involved in a working group of five other graduating students, also showing a high capacity for teamwork and for sharing her knowledge and, above all, her human qualities with her colleagues. I am pleased to recommend Ms Matera for her skills, her theoretical and technical knowledge, and the maturity she showed whenever I was her teacher and tutor.”
